Once again this year, ten outstanding European debut and second films will be competing for our two main prizes: The HEINRICH Audience Award and the Volkswagen Financial Services Film Award Jury Prize. The two prizes, each worth 10,000 euros, are sponsored by Volkswagen Financial Services. EXODUS is about an involuntary departure into the unknown and THINGS UNSAID is about upheavals in a marriage. Family abysses WHEN IT MELTS and RAPTURE tell of family abysses, while SURO shows a conflict-ridden departure into the into rural life.

The public award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 11 November, in the Großes Haus at the State Theatre. Both winning films will be repeated at the Astor on Sunday.
