New German-speaking Films

This is exactly what people love about the cinema: German-language films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland allow us to experience stories that resonate emotionally in a variety of ways: documental or literary, but always very personal. With 15 JAHRE, Chris Kraus presents a sequel to VIER MINUTEN (2006). Great cinema is provided by the Austrian literary adaptation EIN GANZES LEBEN. The Swiss debut film UND DASS MAN OHNE TÄUSCHUNG ZU LEBEN VERMAG finds its own visual language. Nominated for the KINEMA Award are the debut films DEAD GIRLS DANCING and JONJA - powerful films about young people's search for identity. The Braunschweiger Filmpreis, endowed with € 5,000 and sponsored by the Braunschweiger Filmfreunde, will again be awarded this year to the actor or actress chosen as Best Newcomer.

The series NEUE DEUTSCHSPRACHIGE FILME is supported by Gärtner Datensysteme.
