In this year too, the Braunschweig International Film Festival is awarding the audience prize, “The Heinrich”, in the competition for the best debut or second film to an outstanding European production. This sought after trophy, endowed with 10,000 euros, is donated by Volkswagen Financial services AG and split up between the directors and the film distributors. 10 films from 9 different countries are entering the race, amongst them 9 highly topical German premieres. Selected from a great number of exciting productions: young European cinema at its best! “Worlds collide!” Many of the 10 films can be entitled in this way: in THE PARADISE SUITE people of different origin meet each other. Life’s plans collide (IF THE SUN EXPLODES) or even differing social worlds as in GLORY. Family differences characterize LITTLE WING, while in HER COMPOSITION, abysses open up … stylistically diverse and realized creatively, from social drama to tragi-comedy to road movie. Once again we can be very excited! The public award presentation will take place on Saturday, 12.11. in the Staatstheater. The winning film will in addition be shown again in the C1 Cinema.
