The Braunschweig Florian Hoffmeister about his film: ”DIE HABENICHTSE is a film about my generation. About our wish for something special, for adventure, our wish to become or be something and our inability to achieve community and self-care.” In forceful black and white and with reduced dialogues, the film shows a world which gets out of balance after 9/11 - the film is based on the excellent novel by Katharina Hacker, winner of the German Book Prize in 2006. Jakob and Isabelle`s love is clouded by the responsibility felt for the death of a friend who died in the World Trade Center. A spiral of longing, blame and alienation arise...
