Mahatma Gandhi already said that the world offered enough to satisfy every man`s need, but not every man`s greed. In the face of climate change and increasing marine and environmental pollution, the world needs a big, new transformation. It needs to change from this current competitive and consumerist society to an equal society, resourceful, ecologically and economically sustainable, which is also resistant and able to adapt to the effects of climate change. It`s about creating a world where things have value without having to give them a price. These subjects offer film creatives many opportunities to create meaningful projects without always having to simply highlight the problems or produce dystopias. The films in this year`s GREEN HORIZONS look for the cracks that are beginning to show in the system. It`s about the old and new, and alternative ways to approach agriculture, nutrition, clothing and even the meaning of life itself.
