For two years Johnny Hamilton has fought in the war. Now he returns home beaten to find a new order has been established. His father is dead, his mother has married his uncle. To kill or not to kill... Master of action Enzo G. Castellari takes the original surprisingly seriously, despite all the Italo-Western irony on offer – something which is easy to lose sight of in the wild directing galloping from glorious invasions to endless deserts. Here Quella sporca storia nel West gets django-ed, along with the crude dialogue, which when seen in its BRD version gives the film a certain nostalgic edge. Proof that ”The Tragicall Historie of Hamlet, Prince of Denmarke” is simply indestructible.
