50 Jahre Icaic
„Film is art“ read the preamble of the law on the foundation of the ICAIC (Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos/Cuban institute for the art of film and film industry) on March, 24th, 1959 – the starting point of independent Cuban cinematography. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the ICAIC Claudia v. Alemann, director and “aficionado” of cuban cinematography, in cooperation with the filmfest, has curated a programme of up to date Cuban short and feature films. Without her advice and practical help the programme would not have come about. We are looking forward to her lecture on November 14th on current cuban cinema with two directors present.
