Kinema - German-French Youth Award

Winner of the KINEMA-Award 2008: Matthieu Robin

Young people like to go to the cinema and talk about it. This everyday interest is taken up by the German-French youth prize KINEMA, which the 23rd Braunschweig International Film Festival is awarding for the 3rd time. Together with the Lower Saxony school cinema project Kinema , the German-French Youth Association and TV5MONDE the filmfest has developed a concept which enables young people from both countries to participate in an international festival. A jury of five young French and Germans between 16 and 23 will select an award-winner from six debut films.

The five jurors, three from Lower Saxony and two from Haute-Normandie, will be prepared for their work by film expert Anne Huet and by the german director Michael Hofmann. The following films will be shown: 13 SEMESTER, DRAUSSEN AM SEE and MENSCH KOTSCHIE from Germany; LE PÈRE DE MES ENFANTS, SOIS SAGE and JOUEUSE from France.
