After suffering a breakdown, the successful classical flautist Pauli ends up in his small Finnish hometown in order to recuperate at his parents’ house. Exhausted and plagued by fear of failure, he meets his old school friend Iiris, who is passionate about making experimental music. She is simply bubbling over with creativity and ideas! Fascinated by her chaotic energy, the perfectionist Pauli allows himself to be persuaded to participate in spontaneous sound experiments with her, thereby gradually finding new stability... A wonderfully bizarre, idiosyncratic cinema debut – with plenty of dry humour – exploring the power of friendship and the joy that comes from the collaborative creation of music and art.

Director's Biography:Lauri-Matti Parppei from Helsinki is a filmmaker, visual artist and musician (he is the singer-songwriter from the band “Musta Valo”). He has made short films and a TV series. His feature-film debut, A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT, premiered at ACID-Cannes.
