Picture by: Alexander Schaak. The global political situation changes dramatically due to the fall of the Wall. The filming of Ingo Schulz`s novel ADAM AND EVELYN tells the story of a couple from August to winter in 1989. Adam and Evelyn live in the GDR. When Evelyn finds out that Adam is cheating on her, she goes on holiday alone with a girlfriend to Hungary. Adams follows her. When Hungary opens its borders, Evelyn wants to cross over. Adam, however, ends up in the West against his will. This film shows in a special way how torn people were at the time of the reunification. Both must decide in which world - East or West - they want to live in order to have a happy life.
