Felice (Maria Schrader) lives under a false name in Berlin and works for a National Socialist intelligence service. At the same time, she belongs to an anti-nationalist underground movement. Fascinated by Felice`s courage and zest for life, Lily Wust (Juliane Köhler), wife of an NS-soldier and mother of four children, falls in love with her. How can a love between two women at the time of the 2nd World War possibly develop in any way at all? Felice is a Jew and leads her life therefore incognito. The film is inspired by the same named novel by Erica Fischer and is based on true events. Köhler and Schrader won the Silver Bear at the `99 Berlinale for their acting performances.
