Presented by the sister festival Kansas International Film Festival, BIFF hosts a special screening of BIG SONIA. Sonia, a small woman who can barely see over the steering wheel, yet insists on driving herself to work every day to run her late husband’s tailor shop, is a diva known for wearing leopard print and high heel shoes and is one of the last remaining Holocaust survivors in Kansas City. Her unique personality and her words of wisdom not only inspire her neighbourhood but also make up the charm of the documentary BIG SONIA which interweaves local history with the Holocaust. Sonia is a unique survivor and fighter. Her story must never be forgotten.
