When our choice - after a short discussion - fell on a German film, it may seem to be a little esoteric to focus our attention on this film from 1967, especially as Harald Reinl`s film is only based on motives of the author. However, this seemed to us to be sensible as this production, that has unrightly almost fallen into oblivion, on the one hand, offers an international cast and, on the other hand, can be understood as a link between the classic Corman film versions. In addition, it is a good example of - even in the 60s - how diverse the much maligned German movie genre ”grandpa`s cinema” was made.
