A young Ukrainian dreams of working on a cargo boat and protecting his mother from the war at home. He quickly gets used to the difficult daily routine and finds friendship and support in the diverse crew. But a grave mistake that almost costs the life of a crew member suddenly endangers everything: his status in the community, his chances of a future and the hope to bring his mother to safety.

Director's Biography:Director's Biography:Maximilian Vilwock, graduate of the University of Film Babelsberg, is working as a director and screenwriter in Berlin. His films show universal stories from unseen worlds. The film A PASSAGE won a BAFTA nomination. His other works have been shown at various well-known film festivals.
