In 2016 HOMEMATCH celebrated its return match by debuting the film award DIE GOLDENEN VIER LINDEN for the best director of a local film with a prize money of 1000 EURO sponsored by Wolfgang Haberkamm. In its third year the film region Braunschweig once again returns with an array of creativity: great crime stories, regional diversity and international film festival hits. Nora Fingscheidt won the award for best documentary at MAX OPHÜLS and Sarah Ben Hadouze was nominated for best midlength film at the festival. GABI and Gisa Flake’s performance were celebrated in Berlin and the Turkish film CLAIR OBSCUR with Mehmet Kurtulus toured Toronto, Warsaw, Copenhagen and Talinn. In addition to that we present the talents of the regional film school HBK and the Ostfalia, the participants of the SELBSTFILMFESTIVAL and the film education projects BIFFI TAPEs and FILMKLAPPE. We are excited by the filmregion Braunschweig and we are happy about the developement of one of our youngest sections.
