“Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols” – in autumn 1977, the album reaches Number 1 in the UK charts. The media campaign orchestrated by manager Malcolm McLaren brings punk into the mainstream. Glen Matlock, bassist and main songwriter in the Sex Pistols, had already left by this point because he was “sick of all the bullshit”. Based on his autobiography published in 1990, Matlock talks in I WAS A TEENAGE SEX PISTOL about the beginnings of the band and the British punk scene, visually interlinked with archive material. In addition, Pistols colleagues Steve Jones and Paul Cook as well as prominent contemporary witnesses, including Billy Idol and Debbie Harry, describe their memories of those wild years.

Director's Biography:Nick Mead, born 1957 in London, is a producer, director, screenwriter and cinematographer. Andre Relis, born 1975 in California, is a producer and director. Their first collaborative film provides a new look at the career of the Sex Pistols.
