For 13 years the Braunschweig International Filmfest and the North French Film Foundation Pôle Image have organized the extensive film cultural exchange between Lower Saxony and Haute-Normandie. The school cinema project KINEMA joined as a third partner a few years ago. At the 28.Braunschweig International Filmfestl, the Pôle Image Haute-Normandie film foundation is presenting the feature film WEEK-ENDS, by French director Anne Villacèque, with the German actor Ulrich Turkur, as well as the short film THE CROOKS by Antoine Giorgini. The Rouen Film Festival “Fotokino”also showed Florian Eichinger’s film NORDSTRAND (NORTH BEACH) as well as Katell Quillévéré`s SUZANNE (Kinema’s award winner in 2013). For the eighth time the German-French Youth Prize Kinema will be awarded by a jury of six German and French students aged between 16 and 19. We are particularly honoured that the Kinema award was acclaimed by the French Embassy in Berlin last year within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the Élysée-Agreement.
