Is there a new film movement in Braunschweig? One might come to that conclusion. The film class of the Braunschweig University of Arts (HBK), the students of the institute for media research (also HBK) and the Ostfalia’s media design department, the participants of durchgedreht24 and the Filmklappe (“clapperboard”) - all of them are film makers from this very region, and some of them have been an integral part of the festival for years. But this year, there were even more remarkable home-made productions to be found among the submissions. With BRAUNSCHWEIG HEIMSPIEL (“home match”) these film now have a new home within the festival programme.
