"Notice me" is on the poster that a teenager holds up in front of his chest at a so-called "meet and greet", where hysterical fans can shake hands with their idols from the world of live broadcasting. One of these idols is the 16-year-old Austyn Tester. He hopes for fame and money to escape the small-town wasteland of his hometown in Tennessee. "Be yourself, love yourself" is the simple message he brings to his followers. Liza Mandelup wanted to make a film about love among teenagers. The result is a portrait of a very vulnerable generation that seeks a supposedly intact (counter-) world in social media.

Director's Biography:Born in New York, Mandelup started her career as a photographer. After studying at the renowned School of Visual Arts, she shot commercials and short films. JAWLINE, which won an award at the Sundance Film Festival 2019, is her first feature-length film.
