In the coming school year, 11-year-old Amanda is supposed to look after her new classmate Lars, who has Down’s syndrome. Fearing marginalisation, she initially tries to distance herself from him, but as time goes by, a special friendship develops between the two. Lars, however, becomes the victim of a nasty cyberbullying campaign – and Amanda discovers who is behind it. Will she stand up for Lars, or will she give in to peer pressure? A warm-hearted film about friendship, bullying, belonging and self-determination, based on the youth book “Lars is LOL” by Iben Akerlie.

Director's Biography:Born 1988 in Oslo, Eirik Sæter Stordahl studied at the National Film School of Denmark. Following numerous short films and projects for theatre and radio, he is celebrating his feature-film debut with LARS IS LOL.
