”You can`t sleep with the Lefto!” jokes the British radio legend Gilles Peterson about his Belgian DJ colleague. The meaning of this quickly becomes clear when you tour the music metropolises of the world with ”early bird” and trendsetter Lefto. In three episodes the restless DJ and curator takes a look at hot record stores, radio stations and clubs in Los Angeles, London and Seoul, and meets the protagonists of the art and music scene off the beaten track. The innovative TV-format conveys a lively impression of the contemporary sub- and club culture, in which rap, jazz and electro music merge. Meanwhile the filmmakers keep their ear on the street.
