The science fiction film MOON takes us into the year 2035. In the future, the energy need of the Earth is covered to a large extent by Helium-3 which is mined from the surface of the Moon. In the Moon base, which has been built for this purpose, the astronaut Sam Bell is the only human; only an artificial intelligence supports him. After almost three years without any direct contact to other humans, he is on the verge of returning, is however mentally unstable and suffers from hallucinations. When he has an accident outside the base, Sam is confronted by his doppelgänger…
