Those who like new editions of old legends, which already are a self-parody, will like Cyrill Boss, Philipp Stennert and the author collective around Oliver Kalkofe: their Edgar Wallace parody is "meticulously thought through and well-staged ... a hilarious film" (Die Welt). And the film service recognises: "with love for homage and a great tendency to self-irony ... matures in time like a good wine." Helmut Zerlett's congenial episodic score quotes Peter Thomas with the 60's bongos, swing jazz and has orchestral and hybrid passages recorded by the Babelsberg Film Orchestra. Zerlett worked here together with the Munich composer Christoph Zirngibl with whom he has produced several film scores.
