Two teenagers roam through Berlin in search of an escaped bird. The urban backdrop of Berlin becomes a playground for a variety of encounters. Neglected by politics and society, the friends live outside the “system” in their small, isolated bubble, sharing enjoyable conversations – but life refuses to pause. We experience friendship in the shadow of social inequality, captured in a seemingly timeless day, and we obtain a glimpse into a seemingly hopeless future. “Nulpen” – that is the term used to describe losers and non-achievers. The film’s title shows how they are perceived by others, but the film itself shows how they really are.
