”You need elements like tension, action and music to tell your story”, says Wim Wenders about his film at the Congress of the Music Fair Pokomm in Berlin. The film is a spiritual-philosophical discourse on the death of a musunderstood friend who loves life more than anybody else. The main character Finn (Campino) is a successful photographer with burnout symptoms who gets into a crisis of purpose and - after a confrontation with death (Dennis Hopper) - sets off from Düsseldorf to Palermo. But death always follows closely on his heels. Irmin Schmidt composes minimalistic but effective instrumental pieces, amongst others, with trumpeter Markus Stockhausen.
