In China, streaming has quickly developed into an independent entertainment industry with high economic power. In 2017, 422 million people took advantage of this opportunity on the Internet. The directress condenses over 800 hours of material with very private live streams into a snippet of Chinese life, without commenting on it – a view of society from the perspective of the front camera on a smartphone. We experience twelve people telling us what concerns them and what worries they have. Sometimes unintentionally funny, sometimes tragic, always looking for attention or recognition. Is the net perhaps their only chance to get in touch with others?

Director's Biography:Born 1987 in Hubei, China. Documentary filmmaker and producer in her own production company "Burn the Film". Zhu won the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam with her third documentary PRESENT.PERFECT.
