Three women from sub-Saharan countries, living together in Tunisia: Marie, a former journalist and charismatic pastor, looks after immigrants with her congregation. Her residence status is under threat and she is accused of human trafficking. Julie is a student, an artist and a ray of hope for her family. Naney wants to bring her daughter, who has been living on the Ivory Coast for years, to live with her; without a passport, Naney makes ends meet with illegal activities. The three experience marginalisation, racism and fear of deportation. The solidarity of their “adopted family” is put to the test when the orphaned four-year-old Kenza suddenly turns up at their house. Should they take her in or hand her over to the authorities? 

Director's Biography:Erige Sehiri (born 1982 in Lyon) is a French-Tunisian director and producer who has lived in Tunis since 2011. She has been making short films and documentaries since 2012, and her first feature-length film was celebrated in Cannes in 2022. She is committed to supporting female filmmakers in the Arab world.
