With the support of the Association for Sexual Emancipation Inc., a queer film series is included for the first time within the film festival. We show the diversity beyond the heteronormative cinema and the film selection reflects LGBTQI* themes. Film is a medium that is able to inform, teach, shock, arouse, and, of course, entertain. Like no other, this medium manages to bring many people together and we are happy when discussions about the films arise and new discoveries come to light. The queer film series stands for the diversity and acceptance of alternative life styles. For example, the viewer witnesses the remarkable life story of TAMARA Adrián, Venezuela`s first transsexual politician, or finds in KEPT BOY that life with a Sugar Daddy is bittersweet. The film series is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Equality as part of the campaign ”For sexual and gender diversity* in Lower Saxony”.
