For more than 42 years, Massimo and Gino have shared their life and their work. Over the years, a meeting place for the LGBTQI+ community has been established between leather goods and sewing machines in their studio in Palermo – not an easy place for queer acceptance. Their life stories full of laughter and tears, courage and despair, everyday moments and special encounters are fascinating and touching in equal measure. QUIR presents a warm-hearted and humorous portrait of this large family that breaks with convention and shows how community can be created: quietly and loudly, strongly and steadfastly. Massimo says: “Being a faggot was one thing. But being politicised and left-wing was something else.”

Director's Biography:Director's Biography:Nicola Bellucci, born 1963 in Arezzo, Italy, studied philosophy, literature and film at the University of Florence. In 1988, he received his diploma in directing in Florence. From 1992-96, he was an author and cameraman in Italy. In 2000, he founded the company Neuland-Filmproduktion.
