All the glaciers in the Alps will melt in the foreseeable future – that is the scientific consensus. Through interviews with protagonists from science, business and society, REQUIEM IN WHITE – filmed at 14 glaciers in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Germany – reveals the perfidious simultaneity of two developments: The elaboration of essential adaptation strategies versus profit maximisation through the expansion of ski tourism in winter and sensationalistic tourism in summer. The visually stunning documentary concludes with the question: How do we want to say goodbye to our glaciers?

The film will be followed by a panel discussion with participants from the Alpine Association, research and science.

Director's Biography:Director's Biography:Harry Putz is a former professional snowboarder from Tyrol. For two decades now, he has been working as an independent filmmaker in the field of mountain film. Furthermore, he is the initiator of the Freeride Film Festival, founded in 2010, which provides a platform for ski-film makers and athletes.
