Starting in the 50s Caribbean sounds found their way into the British music world for the first time and ensured that it got whirled around. At the centre of this movement was TROJAN RECORDS from year one. The film is a declaration of love to the label and to music. Reggea, Ska and Rocksteady are not only music genres but also carriers of a cultural revolution, which commenced on the dancefloors in the 60s and 70s. Rudeboy tells the story of the label and its influences on the music world based on archive footage and current interviews with artists and their companions (like Lee "Scratch Perry", Toots Hibbert, Ken Boothe etc.).

Director's Biography:Davies is a real multitalented person and born story-teller. He writes and produces films for cinema and TV, directs commercials and music videos. He already collaborated with Coldplay, P. J. Harvey, The Maccabees and many more.Photo: © soundsystem
