What is actually a family? Jankauskas pursues this question in his stirringly and sensitively told drama. After a miscarriage, Jurga and Tomas can't have their own children and want to adopt a 6-year-old little girl. Instead, upon arrival at the orphanage, the couple is confronted with the rebellious 12-year-old Sasha. At first, they are to spend a day with him on a trial basis.
A timeless story about loss, grief, vulnerability, egoism and love, wonderfully played out by the three main actors – and yet highly topical in a world of genetically modifiable dream child design.

Director's Biography:Born in Lithuania in 1976, the director Ernestas Jankauskas, first shot a number of award-winning and highly entertaining commercials. After two short films, the low budget production SASHA WAS HERE is his feature film debut...
