“I see the music”, is how the most reckless photographer of the 60s and 70s describes his recipe for success. Of all chroniclers of rock music history the notorious Jim Marshall probably got the closest to the happenings of the music industry. Jimi Hendrix’ burning guitar in Monterey, Johnny Cash's middle finger in San Quentin or Bob Dylan, who chases a car tyre in Greenwich Village – Marshall definitely was in the right spot at the right time. Besides the study of groundbreaking works from Marshall's oeuvre director Alfred George also throws light on the controversial persona behind the camera, that still remains a mystery to many.

Director's Biography:The documentary GREGORY PORTER: DON'T FORGET YOUR MUSIC by the filmmaker and photographer was shown at Braunschweig International Film Festival in 2017.
