Six short films, made between 1985 and 1990, complement the feature film programme, and in very different ways document the issues that occupied the film directors in the last years of the GDR right up to the fall of the Wall. They seem rebellious, resistant, melancholic, and certainly surprising. Two animated films show how to miss the right moment in time or dance out of line. We get to know a free orchestra, we watch two men with a tuba on their roof making fun of official slogans, go on an essayistic dream journey on the theme of tango and meet street sweepers after a Helmut Kohl election campaign rally in Leipzig.
