In the English province a series of bizarre cases of death occur - the bodies of the dead exhibit claw marks of cats. An American photographer tries to get to the root of the mystery. Does the old, eccentric cat lover have telepathic powers? BLACK CAT offers on account of ”its artistically arranged technovision wide-screen pictures and the morbid atmosphere a technically convincing horror pleasure,” writes Frank Trebbin in his standard work ”Fear sits next to you”. The film, which by Fulci standards is a fairly reserved film in respect to the presentation of violence, moves well away from E.A.Poe`s original work. But this doesn`t harm the tension. An absolute Euro-cult film.
