Daniel Mantovani is a Spanish writer and he receives the Nobel Prize for Literature. As an arrogant, intellectual oaf, he affronts the committee (which, in spite of that, renders homage to him with standing ovations) and 6 years after that he crashes into a creative crisis. The only invitation which he then accepts is that in his home town Salas in Argentina which he left over 40 years ago. Once there, he is instrumentalised for all sorts of purposes and his stay escalates within a short time as he had more than exploited the stories of his childhood and their figures in his literature - and some of them are very vindictive.
