Picture by Juan Carlos Gomez. Abraham , the 88-year-old, strange, crafty tailor is supposed to be put into an old people`s home. But then he gets onto a plane all of a sudden and vanishes: he embarks on an adventurous journey from Buenos Aires to Poland in order to fulfil a promise after 70 years. He looks for a friend who rescued his life during the Holocaust. The grumbling old man, who for good reasons does not ever again want to set foot on German soil, meets all sorts of weird figures on his Odyssee and has heart-warming encounters with special people. The film manages the perfect balance between melancholy and cheerfulness – it won the audience prizes in Miami and Philadelphia.
