The banking crisis from 2007 onwards has led to an unprecedented influence of large corporations on civil societies. The film sharply reveals the tactical, manipulative and innovative ways that corporations are currently using to appear socially and ecologically responsible and at the same time gain more and more control within society - all for the sake of seemingly endless growth at the expense of nature, animals and people and for the benefit of a super-rich elite. At the same time, the documentary shows how people around the world are rebelling against this and standing up against the undermining of democracy and for social justice and environmentally appropriate transformation.
Director's Biography:Jennifer Abbott has been a filmmaker and media activist for more than 25 years. The Vancouver-based mother of three devotes her time to current social, political and environmental issues.
