The 40-year-old Pablo seems to have a picture-perfect life: Married, two children, professionally successful and financially secure he is also a role model in his evangelical congregation. His perfectly traditional life is shaken when he falls in love with a man and his feelings interfere with his faith. Gradually he is confronted with repression and intolerance. But his family and his church then decide to "heal" him at all costs by making him learn to suppress his desire through therapy. Jayro Bustamante paints a gloomy picture of love, family and religious bigotry in his home country Guatemala.

Director's Biography:Born in 1977, Bustamente comes from Guatemala and studied directing in his home country, as well as in Paris and Rome. His feature film debut IXCANUL caused a sensation at the Berlinale and received the Silver Bear for new perspectives in film art.
