”My songs didn`t make me. The fatwa did.” Shahin Najafi is one of of the best known new generation of musicians in Iran. In his songs the singer and rapper criticizes the government. This leads to a fatwa being declared against him, demanding his death. He is able to escape from Iran and comes to Germany, where he still lives and works. But even here his performances are extremely risky. The film maker Till Schauder accompanied Najafi for several years and reveals an intimate portrait of the artist, his life far from home, his relationships, his work and his performances all of them under the shadow of the fatwa.
