1996: 15-year-old Valeska goes on holiday to Crete with her mother, Monica. Monica’s new boyfriend and his daughter are travelling with them. In the intense 24/7 holiday set-up, the two teenagers slowly get to know each other, while different expectations and conflicts become apparent and develop into a dynamic mix. A sensitive and highly authentic story about the challenges of second attempts, about ambivalent mother-daughter relationships and growing up and, ultimately, about the longing for harmony, love and friendship. The two young actresses, Paula Rappaport and Malou Mösli, are particularly impressive.

Director's Biography:Lisa Brühlmann is a Swiss director, actress and author. She studied feature-film directing in Berlin and Zurich. She won the KINEMA Award at the BIFF in 2018 with her feature-film debut BLUE MY MIND, and was nominated for an Emmy in 2019 with KILLING EVE.
