Two years after the attacks in Israel, a musician and his wife are earning their living as entertainers at parties hosted by wealthy elites. There, abundance, numbness, and ostentatious wealth reign supreme. The couple themselves live in poverty with their baby in a run-down neighbourhood. In order to survive, they must operate according to the rules of their financiers. Saying no is impossible. As a result, the musician accepts a commission from a wealthy Russian to rewrite the Israeli national anthem. “When you see your country at the worst point in its history and how it commits the worst crimes, what else can you do but seek an audiovisual way to express this?”, says Lapid regarding his film.

Director's Biography:Nadav Lapid (born 1975 in Tel Aviv) studied philosophy and literature. He later completed a training course at a film school. Initially working as a literary critic and sports journalist, he now focuses on films as a screenwriter and director.
