Exquisite tableaus, a poetic, silent journey, a medieval road-movie: a worried father searching for his little son who ran away to join a children`s crusade. While the son, on the way to the Holy Land, quickly has to face his loneliness, the father soon reaches the limits of his powers. A film about right and wrong heroic models, illusions and values. This elegantly and unconventionally stylised adaptation of a poem makes use of a taciturn Slow Cinema to set our imagination in motion. The work ”of one of the most singular rising talents of the Czech film” (Variety) won the main award of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
