It is one of the most famous images in cultural history: Marlene Dietrich sitting on the barrel from the film THE BLUE ANGEL (1930).

The exhibition presented from 7.11.2025 to 11.1.2026 in the Kemenate Hagenbrücke Braunschweig shows the extensive history and impact of this unique icon - from the 1920s to the present day. The exhibition, which is largely drawn from a private collection and supplemented with individual exhibits from German institutions, provides an insight into the wide-ranging adaptation and interpretation of the image between satire, pop culture, trademark law and arts and crafts.
