BIFF Pop-Up Space for the 40th Anniversary
Starting Friday, October 2, at 6:00 p.m., the Braunschweig International Film Festival will open the BIFF Pop Up Space Festival Lounge at Ziegenmarkt in Braunschweig!
This year, the Braunschweig International Film Festival is celebrating its 40th edition. To mark the anniversary, a new venue is being launched this year: the BIFF Pop-Up Space Festival Lounge.
A pop-up space in the heart of Braunschweig. A new place to gather and connect around the Braunschweig International Film Festival (BIFF)—that was the vision for this year’s anniversary edition of BIFF. With the BIFF Pop-Up Space at Ziegenmarkt, exactly that place has come to life.
“A dream is coming true in this anniversary year! We have a meeting place for everyone—for the city’s community, filmmakers, guests, friends, and anyone who wants to connect and engage. I’m thrilled that a long-cherished wish is now becoming a reality,” says Thorsten Rinke, chairman of International Filmfest Braunschweig e. V. The BIFF Pop-Up Space will be open from October 2 through November 15 at Ziegenmarkt 7 in Braunschweig.
Full Program for the Festival Countdown
Starting Friday, October 2, the BIFF Pop-Up Space will open its doors with a soft opening at 6 p.m. Until the end of the festival week on November 15, visitors can enjoy a full program of events, panel discussions, parties, and cozy get-togethers. With recurring events such as Happy Hour on Wednesdays or the get-together in the BIFF Pop-Up Space’s fireplace room—held every Sunday following the film screenings for the anniversary series (Universum Kino)—a place for people to meet is being created right in the heart of downtown. Collaborative events with local participants, such as readings and talk shows, round out the program, offering a wide-ranging lineup. “Zur Freundschaft” provides the culinary offerings. During festival week, the “Zur Freundschaft” café will also be open daily in the Pop Up Space. It serves as a meeting place between the various venues and invites visitors to mingle.
