BIFF is hiring! Awareness Team Members

We are looking for dedicated individuals aged 18 and older who would like to support the Awareness Team at the 40th Braunschweig International Film Festival.

Together, we want to help ensure that personal boundaries are respected and that people in difficult situations find support.

What to Expect

You’ll serve as a visible point of contact, listening to and supporting people who are experiencing discrimination, boundary violations, or overwhelming stress. If requested, you’ll accompany them to a quiet place and, if necessary, bring in the appropriate help. You don’t have to resolve situations on your own; the Awareness program is not a substitute for security or medical care.

What you should bring to the role

Empathy, attentiveness, reliability, and a respectful approach to diverse life experiences are essential. Experience in awareness-raising, education, social work, psychosocial or therapeutic fields, anti-discrimination, or counseling is helpful. Whether it’s possible to join without prior experience will be determined in consultation with the coordinator.

How the assignment is planned

Assignments are planned in teams of two at agreed-upon festival venues—as points of contact, at a help desk, or to accompany people to a safe space. Locations, shifts, and the joint orientation will be coordinated with the festival organizers. Your availability will be taken into account during planning.
