American Dream meets post Soviet reality in a bitter-sweet coming-of-age comedy. Once upon a time in the Belarus of the 90s... The young headstrong DJ Evelina has a glamorous goal: she wants to emigrate to Chicago and live out her passion for house music. The conservative fetters of her home as well as getting a visa, however, are frustrating challenges. To realize her dreams she can find help from crystal swans. When submitting CRYSTAL SWAN for the Oscars in 2019, Belarus has for the first time in 22 years put forward a candidate for the best foreign language film.
