The family business somewhere in the backwoods of Bern demands Daniel, Paul and Conny’s undivided attention: renting, selling and repairing excavators. A tragic event threatens to tear the family apart and shatters the idyll. How do you communicate when words fail? When the worst comes to the worst, a little excavator dance helps – wonderfully choreographed! The excavator can also help with everyday problems... It is the little things that make BAGGER DRAMA great: the unspoken words among relatives, the village environment with hobbies such as Bötlen (Swiss leisure activity with inflatable boats), singing, and the “Stammtisch” (a table reserved for regular guests). In spatial and social confinement, the virtual cracks are examined and events are allowed to unfold.

Director's Biography:Piet Baumgartner (born 1984) is a Swiss visual artist, transdisciplinary director for film and theatre, technical draughtsman, and journalist with a master’s degree in film directing. He has collaborated with Castorf, Pollesch and Wajda. He alternates between his homes in Zurich and Paris.
