BEYOND: NO SURRENDER. - Spaces for women on the edge of social adaption. Reverse the longstanding, dare new ventures and live a different and meaningful life. This year BEYOND is showing a collection of movies, which center, in a cinematic unconventionally way, highly different livelihoods of women. A gateway in the world of films with questions like: What rooms of actions are there? What is bargaining power? How, where and when? BEYOND: NO SURRENDER. concentrates on a number of ordinary-extraordinary female individuals in different countries. Women, all of them with very distinctive means, who dare their way through and against the patriarchal, discriminating and racist systems. They need to oppose, because there is no other choice for them than to fathom and march on their very own way. The cineastic realisation pursues the claim of inevitability: in consequence we are seeing empowering and visually stunning material, descriptions of reality, restraint and extravagance. Many roads for many goals – freedom, autonomy and safety, living and surviving.
