Picture by valletoux. The protagonist of IN YOUR HANDS was born in a poor family. He is saved by the ambitious director of conservatory Pierre (Lambert Wilson) and the ingenious but strict piano teacher called ”The Duchess” (brilliantly played by Kristin Scott Thomas). Although he is very talented Mathieu lacks patience and technique. Only when his freedom is in danger he starts to focus on his strengths. The director Ludovic Bernard stages a classic theme with surprising turning-points in an intriguing way. And then there are wonderful piano interludes to go with the sensitive camera angles.
